I love Project Life! It has given me permission to scrap book again. Because most of my memory keeping only involves simple pocket pages using our Project Life Card Collections and a bit of journaling, it means I have time to be a bit more creative when I feel like it.
To be honest I take the easy way the majority of the time and use our coordinating accessory packs. They are just too easy! But when I have scraps from card making to use or want to highlight something special, a more traditional page layout is a really nice addition to my albums. Still keeping it fairly simple, these 12 x 12 layouts slot right into my pocket page albums whenever they take my fancy.
It was a rainy miserable day today so I felt inspired to do a little something with my “A Little Foxy” designer series paper. So I decided to do an update of a spread I had CASED earlier in the year. You will find the original layout by Jenny Moors that I was inspired by on my Pinterest board. She had used the Love Blossoms DSP from our Occasions catalogue earlier in the year. Don’t you just love Pinterest?
I can’t wait to put the photos in it. My youngest daughter has been nagging me and nagging me to do her scrapbook baby album like her older sisters. Now with Project Life by Stampin’ Up! I will finally be able to achieve that goal. And I will be able to put as many 12 x 12 layouts as I want in it……or not!
So I had a few bits and bobs left from the “A Little Foxy” DSP from making some Foxy Friends cards and that gave me what I needed for the 12 x 12 patchwork layout. Then I teamed it up with the co-ordinating Pool Party and Smokey Slate card stock and the Foxy Friends stamp set. It came together really nicely.
I used the White Perfect Accents for a little extra detail in the corners and punched out some hearts for some extra layering over the patterned paper. The corners were punched out using my 1/2 inch circle punch.
I have made the pocket page to highlight just two photos. I can change this later though because pocket scrapbooking is so flexible. If I decide to add more photos to the page I can just use the extra cards for something else instead. Either another page or a card. So in actual fact I have probably created enough for two pocket pages at least and I can decide later how it will end up.
Don’t you just love the little fox? He is just too cute the way he is popped up on some stampin’ dimensionals.
