Hey Chick Treat Box

I was getting some little treat box’s ready for my customers this week when I decided to make a version using the colours in this week’s global design project challenge #GDP077.

The little box measures 7cm x 7cm and is 2cm high. I have used Early Espresso for the bottom and So Saffron for the lid. The clear window sheet is cut just a bit smaller from the Cup Cakes and Carousels Designer Series Paper which is cut at 6.5cm x 6.5cm so you can get quite a few out of one sheet. This particular design coordinates with Bermuda Bay so I have used that for the window frame. I have used the two middle sized circles from the Stitched Shaped Framelits. The two together are the perfect width and I was left with a stitched circle to use on a another project later.

Quick tip : I cut the box lid and designer series paper together with a circle framelit that is a wee bit smaller than the largest stitched shape used for the frame. The window sheet is adhered between those two layers. Then you put your frame on top of that and I also make another frame to put on the inside of the box giving a tidy look.

I absolutely love this crazy chicken from the Hey, Chick stamp set which is available as a free item as part of Sal-A-Bration 2017. Feel free to contact me for a brochure or download a copy here.

I stamped him onto shimmery white and colured him in with So Saffron and Peekaboo Peach Ink using my blender pen. Then I used the Bermuda Bay Watercolor Pencil for some intensity in his crazy hair. As usual I topped him off with clear Wink of Stella.
