Jazzy Stamping

Ella Warren – Independent Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator

One More Valentine!

Last Valentines post for the year I promise! I couldn’t show you the card until after Valentines Day because it’s the one I made for my husband. Thanks to Global Design Project for the awesome layout. To be honest, I was a bit stuck until I saw this weeks layout challenge. You must check out all the other entries this weeks #GDP074. There are some totally amazing cards for your inspiration.

I was also so inspired by the GDP Design Team’s cards. If you haven’t visited their blogs yet, I fully recommend doing so. They all have such amazing talent! Kylie Bertucci’s card was the one for me this week with her use of the wee heart layered onto the Stitched Shaped Framelits. You know I just love those framelits! I have certainly been using them a lot lately.

I went for a Basic Black card base for something bold to contrast with the Real Red in the Sending Love Designer Series Paper. Then I simply followed the layout set for the challenge pretty much exactly and used what I had laying around. I am quite pleased with how it all came together.

How cute is this heart from the Love Notes Thinlits? I just popped it onto the layered stitched circle after threading the little arrow through it. I went for white but black would have looked great too I think.

To get the flag ends straight on the large banners I like to use the Triple Banner Punch. I just can’t seem to get them straight otherwise. If I can’t get it straight it just bugs the heck out of me and it just takes too long to make another banner so I cheat and use the punch.

I heat embossed the sentiment just to make the black stand out a bit more. To do that I stamp onto versamark first and then onto the coloured ink pad. Then cover with clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool.

Here are the main tools you will need to recreate this card. Choose any card stock and designer series paper you like.

I thought I might share it in this weeks Case This Card Challenge as well. Check it out over at at #CTC024.
