Watercolor Wings for Spring

We made this beautiful card in my card classes this week in Cambridge. You can’t go wrong with Butterflies! They suit almost any occasion. For this card I took my inspiration from Jill Hilliard’s card. I just loved the fern from the Butterfly Basics stamp-set peeking through the circular window .

I really like the water colour look this set gives you that without the need to water colour. The results are perfect every time. It’s a three step stamp set so the colour combinations are endless.

I used whisper white thick cardstock for both the card base and the mat layer to give it strength. I cut the circle first and then embossed the texture. Placing the card mat down on the card base I marked around the top of the circle with a pencil to use as a guide to stamp the fern leaves. I rubbed the pencil lines out before adhering the card mat down with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how this card turned out!
